Chemical Recycling Points to the Future of Plastics Recycling

The Woodlands, Texas – November 27, 2017 – In an article published recently in Science Magazine, authors Jeannette Garcia and Megan Roberson, show the present and future promise of chemical recycling, "...end-of-life treatment options for plastic solid waste are in practice quite limited...Recent research points the way toward chemical recycling methods with lower energy requirements, compatibilization of mixed plastic wastes to avoid the need for sorting, and expanding recycling technologies to traditionally nonrecyclable polymers." Agilyx Corporation Expands Foam Polystyrene Recycling Capabilities With AmSty-Funded Grant

The Woodlands, Texas – November 2, 2017The Foam Recycling Coalition ("FRC") continues to see results from its grant program. AmSty is an underwriter of the program which seeks to fund infrastructure improvements for polystyrene foam recycling. Agilyx, a company that convers polystyrene waste back into styrene monomer, has just been awarded a grant for much needed equipment. The Woodlands, Texas – August 10, 2017 – AmSty has signed an agreement with Agilyx to receive material produced at its waste-to-styrene pyrolysis facility in Tirid, Oregon.  AmSty will deliver the material to its Styrene Monomer plant in St. James, Louisiana.
